Clock Tower: to be seen during your stay in the hotel

The clock tower and gate: architectural to explore

Built on the site of the north gate in the ancient town ramparts, Clock Gate close to ACE Hotel, marks the crossing point between the new and old town. Built in the 17th century, it is adorned with a steeple designed by Roland.
On the north side, a globe shows the passage of the moon. On the south side, a calendar represents every day of the week according to the planets: the sun for Sunday, moon for Monday, Mars for Tuesday, Mercury for Wednesday, Jupiter for Thursday, Venus for Friday, and Saturn for Saturday.
On the north face, the French emblem (the fleur de Lys) was replaced by “la loi” at the time of the French Revolution.
Clock Gate was completely renovated in the spring of 2003. The Clock Tower, belfry and bell are listed as Historic Monuments.
